Irene, Owner of St. Croix Healing Arts Center

About Irene Pregl

Irene Pregl, founder of the St. Croix Healing Arts Center, has dedicated her life to personal growth, healing, and empowering others through education and holistic wellness.

Irene’s own healing journey began after years of struggling with undiagnosed Lyme disease and countless doctor visits. She was introduced to a Catholic nun who taught her about personal healing through energy work, practical tools, and spiritual guidance. She also received Usui Reiki sessions one to two times each week from a local practitioner. Combined with herbal support, this approach helped her recover from Lyme disease in approximately six months.

Through her experience, Irene discovered that Reiki offered benefits far beyond physical healing. It strengthened her mind-body connection, deepened her spiritual awareness, and supported her overall well-being. Inspired by these life-changing experiences, she committed herself to helping others on their own healing journeys.

Today, Irene is a Usui Reiki Master Teacher, offering all levels of Reiki training and healing sessions. She also hosts workshops designed to help individuals release limiting beliefs, old emotional patterns, and past experiences so they can move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

The St. Croix Healing Arts Center has grown into a comprehensive wellness center offering a variety of holistic services, including:

  • Usui Reiki sessions and certification classes
  • Infrared sauna
  • Meditation float tanks
  • Cold plunge therapy
  • Massage therapy
  • Natural wellness solutions for health-related concerns
  • QUEST 4 bioenergetic assessment technology to evaluate the body’s energetic systems and provide personalized wellness recommendations
  • Peptide education and wellness support
  • Essential oils and educational classes
  • And many other services focused on supporting mind, body, and spirit.

At the St. Croix Healing Arts Center, Irene’s mission is to provide a welcoming space where individuals can explore natural approaches to healing, personal growth, and overall wellness.

What Are the Benefits of Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance and promote overall well-being. While each person’s experience is unique, many people report feeling deeply relaxed, refreshed, and more centered after a Reiki session.

Potential benefits of Reiki include:

  • Promotes deep relaxation and reduces stress
  • Encourages emotional balance and inner peace
  • Supports the body’s natural healing process
  • Helps relieve tension and promotes relaxation
  • May improve sleep and reduce feelings of fatigue
  • Enhances mental clarity and focus
  • Encourages a greater sense of spiritual connection and self-awareness
  • Supports recovery from life’s emotional and physical challenges
  • Complements both traditional medical care and other holistic therapies
  • Creates a sense of balance for the mind, body, and spirit

Reiki is safe for people of all ages and can be received while fully clothed. It is a complementary therapy designed to work alongside—not replace—medical care. Many people choose Reiki to support relaxation, wellness, and personal growth as part of a holistic approach to health.

“When we create balance within ourselves, we open the door for healing, peace, and renewed vitality.”

What Is a Session Like with Irene?

Every Reiki session with Irene is unique because it is tailored to your individual needs and intentions.

Irene brings together a distinctive blend of Usui Reiki, a gentle Peruvian-inspired shamanic approach, and intuitive guidance to create a personalized healing experience. Before your appointment, she prepares an intuitive chart to identify areas that may benefit from attention. At the beginning of your session, you’ll review the chart together and have the opportunity to discuss your goals, ask questions, and add anything you’d like to focus on.

During the session, Irene may incorporate a variety of healing tools, including:

  • Essential oils
  • Healing stones and crystals
  • Rattles
  • Drumming
  • Gentle energy clearing techniques

Each of these tools is used thoughtfully to support relaxation, energetic balance, and your personal healing journey.

Like many energy practitioners, Irene has developed areas of focus through years of experience. She is especially passionate about supporting people who are navigating life’s more challenging experiences, including emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, major life transitions, and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed. Her intention is to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can release what no longer serves them and reconnect with their own inner wisdom and strength.

Whether you are seeking stress relief, emotional balance, spiritual growth, or a deeper connection with yourself, every session is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

“Healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about returning to the wholeness that has always been within you.”

Meet Adam clayton

I am passionate about helping individuals connect with their inner strength and healing potential.

I lead mindfulness meditation and Slings Anatomy Trains Myofascial Movement Therapy classes, blending yoga and Pilates techniques with a deep focus on fascia’s tensegrity model. These classes emphasize fluidity, elasticity, and structural stability to support therapeutic and holistic wellness.

In addition to group classes, I offer personalized martial arts coaching, specializing in Muay Thai kickboxing, and I host self-defense and self-protection seminars. My approach to self-defense highlights not only physical safety but also strategies for avoiding injuries and navigating our medical system with awareness and resilience. I also am a muay thai fundamentals coach at Alliance St. Croix’s Striking Academy — check me out there for group classes as well!

My background is as diverse as my passions. I’ve been a musician since the age of 13, performing everything from death metal, weddings in a funk band to dinner music at local restaurants. I studied classical guitar performance at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and filmmaking at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Currently, I’m channeling my love of storytelling and creativity into a YouTube channel and podcast, supporting the healing journeys of our community and beyond.

When not at the center, I’m likely in the woods, grounding myself through nature, painting, or working on live concert and music videos for fellow musicians. I am also pursuing my commercial pilot’s license, preparing for an adventure-filled hiatus from the front lines of wellness as a massage therapist.

Healing is about creating harmony in body, mind, and spirit, and I’m honored to share this journey with you through our programs at the St. Croix Healing Arts Center. Together, let’s explore the path to greater wellness and empowerment.

Meet Karen Bergum

As a licensed massage therapist, I take an intuitive approach to healing, listening to the body to uncover areas of tension and discomfort, and working with my clients to release them. My goal is to guide the body back to homeostasis, fostering a state of relaxation and well-being. I specialize in cupping therapy, an ancient Chinese modality that enhances circulation, releases fascia, and promotes the free flow of chi. Additionally, as a Reiki-certified practitioner, I often incorporate energy work into my sessions, helping clients achieve deeper healing on a physical and energetic level.

I believe in the power of mindful touch and its ability to reconnect us to our bodies. During sessions, I encourage breathwork as a tool for releasing stored tension and allowing healing to unfold naturally. Massage therapy is not only my profession, but also my passion—it is a gift I feel called to share with others. By helping my clients become more attuned to their bodies, I hope to inspire them to take an active role in their own healing journey. Everyone deserves time for intentional bodywork and the healing power of human touch—it does wonders for our physical, emotional, and energetic systems.

North

North represents winter and also a sense of trouble, hardships, and sadness. As winter is the season of waiting and surviving, the Cherokee word for North literally means cold. North is the color blue. The animals representing the North include white buffalo, moose, and bear. These animals are a reminder to be patient with the seasons.

In the sacred north direction you stand in your own light instead being bound by the roles that you fill.  Learn to live in gratitude to discover your true gifts by connecting to the collective unconscious.  Use ancient technique of soul retrieval to call back the parts of your soul that broke away due to trauma to create wholeness and harmony in your soul.  Included in this direction you will be making your own drum for journeying.

West

West represents Autumn and the final harvest as the end of a cycle. The West is black and it represents the death of summer’s cycle. The animals of the west include the beaver for teamwork to prepare for winter and the snake to remind us of how to shed our old skin for transformation.

In the west examine what you hold inside of your shadows and bring it out without fear of what may be discovered.  See how negative energies held in your luminous energy field affect your health and wellbeing.  You will learn how to map and release ancestral imprints and past life karma.  Learn to listen to your inner voice and trust your intuition so you can accept guidance from the Spirit World.

South

South represents Summer and is a time of great abundance. The summer holds fertility, passion, growth, joy, and peace. The color is white. The animals of the South hold the lesson of strength, courage, and pride. The eagle with her keen sight and the wolf, proud to be part of the tribe.

You start your journey around the Medicine Wheel by looking to the sacred south direction by exploring the foundation in energy medicine practices.  In the south, the snake teaches you to shed the past, like its skin, so you can emerge renewed.  This act of releasing things that no longer serve a purpose keeps you moving forward in life.  Moving past old stories allows you an opportunity to write a new life story.

East

East represents Spring and symbolizes victory, success, and power. After a long winter, the renewed sense of life emerges. The color is red and it symbolizes protection. Red beads were used to call forth the red spirit for strong love relations, to heal from illness, and to pray for longevity. Animals of the East are birds in flight such as the owl, hawk, and hummingbird. Words are offered to the East so they may fly and soar with Spirit.

The east you will examine your life’s journey to see how the choices you make in life becomes woven into the stories of those around you. Learn to die consciously and be reborn to a life you create every step.  Explore the gifts Creator has for you and embody your Higher Self in your true calling.
